Dollywood's Festival of Nations began in 2001 when Dolly Parton wanted to let the world be showcased at Dollywood: "I've been fortunate enough to have traveled all over the world, and the Festival of Nations is an opportunity for Dollywood to bring a world of entertainment to the Great Smoky Mountains."

In each of the seasons the Festival has been held, countless countries have been showcased such as, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Russia, Canada, and so many more. World-class entertainment and first-class food is showcased.
